He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Albert Jerome, Sr. and Edna Magdalene Walker Hacker; his sister Patricia Hacker; and his grandson Jeremiah Hacker. He is survived by: his wife Susan McNabb Hacker; his son Jay III; his daughter-in-law Heather Hacker; his siblings, Dennis Hacker, David, Lois Hacker, Roger Hacker, Tony, Paula Hacker and Joe Hacker; his grandson Elijah Hacker; and his great grandchild Hayzen Hacker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McMinn Memory Gardens (1727-1739 Co Rd 560, Athens, TN 37303).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Woodward Church of God building fund.
