He was predeceased by : his wife Betty Ann; his parents, John Earl and Nora Edith McKenzie (Wade); and his brother Edwin. He is survived by : his children, Wade McKenzie (Mary Eleanor), Dave McKenzie (Amy), LeAnne Fowler (Stuart) and Sheryl Duley; his grandchildren, Rachael Nusbaum (Michael), Ann Randolph McKenzie, Megan Miller (Larry), JD McKenzie Jr. (Chelsea), Mitch McKenzie, Jennifer, Sarah, Ben Fowler, Logan, Madison and Kaitlyn Duley; and his great grandchildren, Callie, Landon Miller and Brylen Mercier. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
