It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine Wheeler of Athens, Tennessee, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on March 3, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Lee Eleby Boyd and George Lyman Jr. (Lewis France Boyd Sr.); and her siblings, Lewis France Boyd Jr., Rosa Boyd Sutherland and Marian Boyd Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Jerrilyn Dabney-Johnson, Daryl Anthony Savoy Sr. and Daniell Savoy (Charles); her grandchildren, Megan, Duane Sr. Damon, Donavan, Dominic, Nicholas, Noah, Madison, Mason, Daryl Jr., Tiffany, Tasha and Daryl; her granddaughters-in-law, Hannah, Kate and Haevyn; and her great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jaylen, Janiya, Duane Jr., Jamir, Jacob, Aaliya, JaMicheal, Naomi, Chloe and Winter.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee.
