He is survived by: his spouse Shanantha Fairbanks; his children, Jessica Carroll (Rocky), Stephanie Recht (Travis), Ashley Harris (Keith), Katy Marney (Mikey), Carrie Fairbanks, Kloey Peterson, Jesse Fairbanks, Lee Fairbanks, Cayson Whitted, Dillin Walden, Brandy Whitted (Kelby) and Abby Whitted (Aaron); and his siblings, Lorene VanHoose (Frank), Catherine Earls, Kenneth "Bimbo" Fairbanks, Bobbie Joe Fairbanks, David Eugene Fairbanks and Richard Fairbanks. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ziegler Funeral Home (521 W Madison Ave, Athens, TN 37303-3490). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at the Walnut Grove Cemetery (14108 S No Pone Valley Rd, Decatur, TN 37322).
