It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marshall Thomas McKinney of Athens, Tennessee, who passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Marshall departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Marshall. Though Marshall may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home (521 N Jackson St, Athens, TN 37303). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Spring Creek Church of Christ (325 Co Rd 117, Riceville, TN 37370). A graveside service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Upper Spring Creek Cemetery (325 Co Rd 117, Riceville, TN 37370).
