It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Opal Slack of Athens, Tennessee, born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, who passed away on February 12, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas E. Hunter and Minnie Lou Hunter; her sister Ola Jane Hunter; and her son-in-law Steve Melius. She is survived by: her husband Arliss Slack; her children, Kevin Scott Slack and Cindy Garland; her grandchildren, Daniel and Thomas Slack; her brother Harold Hunter of Athens, Tennesse; and her grandchildren, Andrew, Abby, Anthony and Auria. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gideons International.
