He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Annette Akins; his father Mason'Mutt'Ervin Akins; and his grandparents, Robert, Eula Mae Eaton, Bruner and Nola Akins.
He is survived by: his mother Reba Sue Akins; his sons, Stacey and Matthew Akins; his sisters, Pam Cathey (Tim), Kathy Fugate (Beauford) and Shawna Akins-Crowe; his siblings' children, Taylor (Shelby), Tanner (Lynsey), Trevor, Nathan (Ashley), Andrea, Amanda, Jennifer, Cayci (Michael) and Jessica (Joe); Larry Rowland. He is also survived by several grandnieces and nephews, special friend.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Etowah (300 Tennessee Ave, Etowah, TN 37331). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Poole Funeral Home (300 Tennessee Ave, Etowah, TN 37331). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the same location.
