He was predeceased by: his father John Robert Simpson; his wife Catherine Guffey Simpson; and his grandparents, Sam and Frances Jones. He is survived by: his mother Faye Wilson (Tenn) of Athens; his daughters, Felicia Simpson Clapp (Alan) of Charleston, S. Carolina and Chasity "Alexis" Simpson of Athens; his grandson Samuel Clapp; and his sisters, Vicki Hixson of Riceville and Angel Simpson of Athens.
