He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Thompson and Willa Dean Burton Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly May Thompson; his daughter Sheena Ryan (Shaun); his grandsons, Brayson Ryan and Carter Ryan; and his siblings, Kim Arnett (Larry) and Randy Thompson (Kristi).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walnut Grove Cemetery (14108 S No Pone Valley Rd, Decatur, TN 37322). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
