He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Mitchell; and his sister Peggy Mitchell Lewis. He is survived by: his father Reece Mitchell; his wife Mary; his daughters, Kayla Gray (Richard) and Amy Taylor (Lee); his grandchildren, Hunter Wallace, Aiden, Landon Gray, Henry Mitchell, Spencer Anne and Wesley Taylor; his brothers, Bill Mitchell (Bobbie) and James Mitchell; his close friends, Pete and Beverly Brown; Katie and Andy.

Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or St. Jude.
