He was predeceased by: his parents, James Speer and Leanna O'Guinn Speer; and his brother George Speer. He is survived by: his wife Geninda Speer of Atwood; his children, Dewayne Speer (Pamel) of Atwood and Genene Smith (Allan) of Atwood; his siblings, Lee Speer (Sue) of Texas, Betty Whitaker of Lexington, TN and Phyllis Forjette (Paul) of Lexington, TN; his grandchildren, Rebecca Camille Speer, Meagan Cook (Dustin), Logan Smith, Martin Smith and Greg Camper; and his great grandchildren, Natalie Cook, Levi Cook, Asher Greenman and Veronica Greenman.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bodkin Funeral Home (2000 S 1st St, Milan, TN 38358). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Independence Cemetery.
