He is survived by: his wife Letha Oakes of Bartlett, Tennessee; his son John Kevin Oakes (Kassie) of Louisville; his grandson Jude Oakes; his sister Lena Spears of Cordova, Tennessee; and his aunts, Pearline Cummins and Betty Long.
