He was predeceased by : his daughter Dawn Rainey; his grandson Dallas Simmons; his mother Dawn RaineyDaughter (Dallas SimmonsGrandson); and also Dorothy Moore. He is survived by : his wife Sandi Rainey; his children, Angelia Baxter and Brian Rainey (Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Crystal Simpson (Cody), Brandon Baxter, Cameron Baxter (Quinte), Anthony Rainey, Alyssa Rainey and Abel Rainey; his great grandchildren, Hudson Simpson, Haylee Johnson, Emery Simpson and Hazel Johnson; and his sister Kathy Ellis.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133). A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
