He was predeceased by: his parents, Mable Isabelle West Butler and Hilliard Jennings Butler; his sister Vivian June Smith; and his brother-in-law Dick Smith. He is survived by: his children, Jay Thomas Butler (Nina), Dee Bean (Todd Bean), Joey Butler (Niki), Ashlynn (Trey Bundrant), Austin (Julianne), Eli (Hailey), Jake, Luke, Zack, Maggie, Gracie and Bella; his nephew Richard Smith; and his grandchildren, Emalee (Stefan Arroyo), Ethan (Samantha Butler), Erin Butler, Isaiah Bean, Samuel Bean, Harper Grace Butler, Jackson Butler, Emerson Kate Bundrant and Elowyn Arroyo.
In lieu of flowers, the Butler Family has asked the community to donate to the Upperman High School Football, basketball, softball teams or chorus. Checks can be made out to the individual program and mailed to Upperman High School at 6950 Nashville Highway, Baxter, TN 38544 with ATTN to Ross Fanning.
