He was predeceased by: his stepdaughter Alexis Rain Moon; his parents, George M. Shanks and Betty Quarles; and his sister Regina Lawson. He is survived by: his wife Angela Zipper Thompson of Baxter; his stepson Cody Moon of Kansas; his siblings, Modena Thompson of Baxter and Bobby Thompson (Rene) of Chattanooga; his brother-in-law Wayne (Lawson); his siblings' children, Sarah, Ronnie, Maddie, Lilly and Brandon Thompson (Jennie); his great-nephew Alex; and his close friends, Doug and Tammy Goolsby.
