He was predeceased by : his parents, Bryant Whitt and Lissie Mae Hixon; his son Charles "Jack" Whitt; his siblings, Mary Whitt, Georgia Hembre-Whitt and Lawrence "Teter" Whitt; and his uncle Harlan Whitt.

He is survived by : his children, Marty Whitt, Melissa "Sis" Whitt, Christopher "Duae" Whitt (Penny Bailey) and Joanie "Jo" Coffey (James). He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
