He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Jane Neal; his son Jerry Wayne Neal; and his grandson Jonathan Neal. He is survived by: his sons, John B Neal (Angela) of Belvidere, Terry Neal (Linda) of Belvidere and Kerry Neal of Belvidere; his daughter-in-law Jane Neal of Belvidere; and his siblings, Jerry Neal (Connie) of Tullahoma, Ted Neal (Wanda) of Flintville and Rita Wagner (Ralcon) of Nashville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
