He was predeceased by : his parents, Grady Lee "Doc" and Mary Elizabeth Lancaster Sykes; his wife Pam Wallace Sykes; and his brother Marvin Lee Sykes. He is survived by : his daughters, Jennifer Biggs (Korey) of Bumpus Mills, TN and Rachel Stall of Dover, TN; his grandchildren, Lilly, Ally Biggs, Riley and Emmitt Stall; his siblings, Carl Sykes (Sue) of Dover, TN, Sidney Sykes (Anna) of Big Rock, TN and Mary Ruth Bath of Hoover, AL; and his pet Smoke. He is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Anglin Funeral Home (402 Donelson Pkwy, Dover, TN 37058). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
