She was predeceased by: her husband David William Brown; and her parents, George Dewey Major and Mildred Hardy Major. She is survived by: her children, Charles A. Pruitt Jr. (Peggy), Greg Pruitt (Judy), Debbie Rasar (Allen), Denise Hamilton (Dana) and Angie Sutton (Johnny); her siblings, Donna Morton, Margaret Ann Major, Jay Major, Wayne Major (Ellen) and Steve Major; her sister-in-law Linda Major; and her grandchildren, Derek Hamilton, Eric Rasar, Stephen Pruitt, Dylan, Jake, Wilson Pruitt, Herbert, Hart Tolliver, Rachel Hafner, Julia Gibson and Erin Rasar. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
