He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrison Barnette and Flona Lee Barnette; his sister Wilma Lewis; his half-brothers, Nathan Miller and Gordon Miller; and his children, Benny Barnette, Eford Barnette, Jr. and Mitchell Keith Barnette.
He is survived by: his wife Catherine Barnette; his children, Donna Wardrep (Jeter), Jeanie Sutphin, Angela Stine (Scott), Danny Barnette (Darlene) and Steve Carty (Shannon); his sister Evelyn Miller; his half-sister Margaret Moore; his grandchildren, Logan Sutphin, Lucas Sutphin, Hunter Stine (Brooklynn) and Parker Stine (Emily); and his great grandchild Ivory Jade Stine. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
