He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Lyman Hicks and Iva Jean Hicks (Salley). He is survived by: his wife Cindy Davis Hicks; his children, Ashley Bates (Robert Bates, II), Heather Pippin (Charles Pippin, II), Fred Hicks, Jr. and Robbie Hicks; his grandchildren, Gabe Hicks, Lucas Bates, Emma Pippin, Joshua Bates and Jude Pippin; his siblings, Glenna Parker (Darrel), Charles Lyman Hicks, II (Angie) and Richard Hicks (Joette); and his parents-in-law, Leta and J. D. Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close friends.
