With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Martha Elizabeth Mitchell McCray (Blountville, Tennessee), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 13, 2025 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, J. D. Mitchell and Irene Mitchell; her husband Vernon McCray; and her sister Peggy Daniel of Fall Branch. She is survived by: her daughter Laura Shields (Scott Shields) of Camden; her granddaughters, Adrienne Olanovich (Tim), Hannah Shields of Wilmington, NC and Bethany Tate (Austin) of Weaverville, NC; her great grandchildren, Gabby, Kai, Hunter Olanovich and Ashton Tate; and her siblings, Karen Setser (Jackie) of Greenville, TN, Jody Mitchell of Bristol, TN and Duane Mitchell (DeAnne) of Fall Branch, TN. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at the same location.
