He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Folkner and Lillian Jones Folkner; his wife Sonja Gayle; his siblings, Phyllis Bruner and Willis "Bud" Folkner; and his brother-in-law Terry Lovins (Mary Sue Baker).
He is survived by: his daughters, Tamara Giles (Tom) and Monika Hamby (Steve); his grandchildren, Channing Harding (Brian), Savannah Giles and Connor Hamby; his sister Carolyn Arnold (Johnny); and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Lovins and Frances Cross. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
