With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Thomas of Bluff City, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 6, 2026 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Blanche Vandeventer and Roby Bare; and her sister Sue Harkleorad. She is survived by: her siblings, Virginia McCloud, Ruth "Bootsie" Humphrey, Roxie Williams, Loise Dishner, Paul Bare, Lawrence Bare, George Bare, Dean Bare, William Bare, Luther "Buster" Bare, Jack Bare and Bobby Bare; her former husband Freelyn Massengill; her daughter Gail Rene Thomas; her husband Forrest; her granddaughters, Faith Morelock (Cameron) and Grace Hampton (Thomas); her sister Sue Harkleroad; and her sister-in-law Shirley Thomas. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
