He was predeceased by: his parents, William Clyde and Lillian Ruth Smith (Nichols). He is survived by: his wife Carol Gilbert Smith; his children, Tara Annette Smith of Johnson City and Chad William Smith (Jenni) of Bluff City; and his granddaughter Emily Sage Smith of Bluff City.
