She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Campbell and Mae Ola McCarver Barnes; her siblings, Bessie Barnes, Jessie Verdine Barnes Powers (William), Nellie Carol Barnes Poole (Hilry), Martha Ann Barnes Sanders (Tommy) and Edward Lynn Barnes; her son Johnnie Ray Taylor; and her stepchildren, Melody Joy Maynard (Kirby) and Elmer Lee Dorris.
She is survived by: her daughter Catherine Denise Taylor; her grandson Charles Frank Taylor; her stepchildren, Brittany Dorris Wood (Jeff) and Anthony "Tony" Dorris; and her sister-in-law Jewell Barnes. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Palestine Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the BIG Springs Cemetery.
