She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Gurgel and Gertrude Mellin Gurgel; and her sister Sandy Pole. She is survived by: her husband Doug Askew; her children, Diane Hamlin, Judy Horner, Darla Sanders, Doug Askew, Cathy Barker and Steve Askew; and her sisters, Nancy Matthiesen and Terry Larson. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
