With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Douglas Grindstaff Sr. of Brentwood, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 2, 2025 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Edward Grindstaff and Joey Ruth Pinyon Grindstaff. He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Grindstaff; his sister Wanda J. Rietdorf; his sibling's children, Kim Fuller and Tara Patton; his children, E. Douglas Grindstaff II (Tammy), Melinda M. McAlindon (Lance), Justin E. Miller (Katy) and Kimberly M. Pitt; his grandchildren, Alexandra Ritter (E. Douglas Grindstaff III), Caroline Grindstaff (Margaret McAlindon), Elizabeth McAlindon (James McAlindon), Jonathan McAlindon (Charlotte Miller), Archer Miller (Robert Pitt) and Pitt (Annalee Pitt); and his great grandchildren, Harrison Ritter, Adelynne Ritter, Genevieve Grindstaff and Cordelia Grindstaff. He is also survived by four children, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn-Roesch Patton Funeral Home (660 Thompson Ln, Nashville, TN 37204). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
