With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herbert L Chelton of Brentwood, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 5, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Lloyd Chelton and Fern Chelton; his former wife Winnie R. Chelton; his wife Inez Chelton; and his siblings, Jeanette Beish, Mona Herman of Conroe, TX and James Chelton of Spring Hill, TN..
He is survived by: his children, Stacey Derochie (William) of Hiawassee, GA, Shain Grissom (Marcus) of Decatur, TN and Jeffery Chelton of Gallatin, TN; his brothers, Richard Chelton (Suzzanne) of Conroe, TX and Kenneth Chelton (Mary Lynn) of Sprague, NE; and his sister-in-law Helen. He is also survived by three stepchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home (9010 Church St E, Brentwood, TN 37027).
