She was predeceased by: her parents, Norman Smith and Joy Davis Caplena; her sister Mary Grace Caplena; her uncles, Bill Jim and Rob Roy Davis; and her grandmother Johnnie Davis.
She is survived by: her sons, Jonathan Murphy (Christy) of Brighton and Christopher Murphy of Clayton, OH; her sister Gina Caplena Ellis of Bartlett; her grandchildren, Madeleine Burke (Scott) of Chapel Hill, TN, Sophia Murphy of Memphis, Zachary Murphy of Clayton, OH and Joshua Murphy of Clayton, OH; her stepgrandchildren, Maria Goldring of Memphis and Isaac Goldring of Brighton; her great grandchildren, Charlotte and Sam Burke; and her aunt Shirley Davis Davie of Covington.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Covington Funeral Home (3499 U. S. 51 S, Covington, TN 38019). A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Munford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Covington Animal Rescue Effort or Whiskers Wishes in her name.
