He was predeceased by: his wife Elaine Pedrick Barker; his siblings, Dorothy Gehring and Ronald Barker; and his parents, Myron Barker and Esther Barker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Nancy Lynne Barker Whitesides (William E.) of Bristol and Joyce Elaine Barker Backus (Ronald E.) of Durham; his sister Maxine Durasinski of Ralston, Nebraska; his grandchildren, BellaJane Ellen Pedrick Whitesides, EmmaLynne Martha Wescoat Whitesides, StellieMay Lynne Barker Whitesides of Bristol, TN, Michelle Elaine VanBergen (Noah T.) of Cincinnati and Linda Christine Backus of Washington, D. C.; and his great grandchild Poppy Elaine VanBergen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
