David Porter Obituary
We announce the death of David Porter in Bristol, Tennessee, born in Ithaca, New York, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 74. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. David will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew David will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. David’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his mother Helen Porter; his parent-in-law Hunna Johns; and his brother Kenny Porter. He is survived by: his sons, Shawn Porter (Jayna), Cory Porter (Amanda) and Tracy Porter; and his great grandchild Debbie Porter. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bangs Funeral Home (1301 W Buffalo St, Ithaca, NY 14850).
