He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Edward Plank and Lena Mae Gouge Plank; his wife Patricia Holt; and his siblings, Shirley Ann Plank Jacobs and Roy Edward Plank.

He is survived by: his children, Felicity Annamae Shackelford-Riffe and Joshua William Plank (Carrie); his grandchildren, Trey Alexander Shackelford (Christal), Jasmine Nicole Shackelford, Haleigh Lynn Plank and Megan Anna Mae Plank; his great grandchild Maya Jade Shackelford; and his sister Barbara Jean Plank. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Johnny's honor to the Piney Flats Presbyterian Church.
