He was predeceased by: his parents, Vyrtle Pauline and Joseph Bayless Combs; his wife Patricia Inez Brooks Combs; and his siblings, Harold Combs, Marie Combs Jones, Mary Combs Hargrave and Martha Combs Bernard.
He is survived by: his sons, Craig Combs (Charles) of Provincetown, MA, Bryan Combs (Beth) of Watertown, TN and Scott Combs (Anne) of Midlothian, VA; and his siblings-in-law, John Brooks (Jane) of Bristol, TN and Shelia Young Loughran of San Leandro, CA. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery Chapel (839 Bluff City Hwy, Bristol, TN 37620). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
