She was predeceased by : her parents, Ackie Wampler and Samuel Wampler; her husbands, Hugh Lee Saul and John E. Bates; and her daughter Sandra Bates.

She is survived by : her daughters, Debra Saul Bridges (Ted) and Merry Jean Bates Beres (Jim); her grandchildren, David Beres, Sue Curtis (Jeff), Karen Beres Drege (Lance), Amy O'Conner (Drew) and Lori L. Bridges; her great grandchildren, Dylan Curtis, Tyler Curtis, Sydney Curtis, Penelope O'Conner and Liam O'Conner; and her niece Sharon Turner.
