He is survived by: his wife Janet Tallman Massengill; and his children, Myers Newton Massengill II (Shelley), Weatherly, Milly, Lee Carter Massengill (Amber), Georgia Kate, Darby, Seth, John David Massengill (Julia), Fritz, Carty and Poppy.
