Though Phyllis may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Phyllis touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Camper and Ida Mae Shaffer Camper; and her brother Gene Camper. She is survived by: her significant other Richard Hoopes; her siblings, Peggy Cox, Barbara Crusenberry (Bill), Glenda Brackett, Gary Camper (Joyce) and Frederick Camper (Jane); and her sister-in-law Margaret Jane Camper. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Akard Funeral Home (1912 W State St, Bristol, TN 37620). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
