He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Houts and Irene Purnell Houts; and his sister Joanne Wojtanowski. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Gregg Houts; his children, Debra Lea Houts, Robert J. Houts, Jeffrey G. Houts, Jason R. Houts, O. Douglas Sluder and Steven J. Sluder; and his brother Thomas C. Houts (John A. Houts). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
