He is survived by: his wife Barbara Whittaker Lovins; his daughter Mitzi Sue Lovins; his grandsons, Gabriel Heath Fitzgerald and Sebastian "Sebe" Briton Fitzgerald; his son-in-law Paul Victor Fitzgerald; his siblings-in-law, William Cloyade Folkner and Patsy Shuttle; his nieces and nephews, Tamara Giles (Tom), Monika Hamby (Steve), Robert Samuel "Sam" Shuttle, Jr. (Amy) and William Haynes "Chip" Helton Jr. (Stephanie); his great-nieces, Channing Kyndall Harding (Brian) and Savannah Shaye Giles; his great-nephew Connor Dayne Hamby; his uncle David Roberts; and his aunt Elva Vaughan.
