He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Raettig and Bertha Koloski Raettig; and his siblings, Marie Waddell, Paul, James and Edward Raettig.
He is survived by: his wife Doris; his sons, Bill Raettig and Dean Raettig (Belinda); his grandchildren, Robbie Raettig, Lindsey Smith (Dee), Allison Leonard (Trevor), Daniel Wilson and Tara Mele (Sean); his great grandchildren, Sydney Smith, Miller Raettig, Mason Raettig, Piper Smith, Suzanna Wilson and Lincoln Leonard; and his daughter-in-law Patty Smith (Carson).
