He is survived by: his wife Amy Thomas Trainer; his children, John Perry Trainer, Jr. (Donna), LuAnn Mckenzie, Becky Fuqua (Ronnie) and Sara Simmons (Scott); his grandchildren, Hannah Coogan (Tom), Sydni McKenzie, Taylor Cooksey (Tucker), Nash Fuqua, Amanda McKenzie, Anna McKenzie, Dylan Simmons (Anne Marie), Matthew Trainer (Maddie Younginer) and Riley Simmons; his great grandchildren, Dawson Coogan, Ashton McKenzie and Tatum Cooksey; his sibling's children, Brenda Hill, Mike Cherskov and Richard Cherskov; and his mother-in-law Marian Thomas.
