He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy Short; his parents, Amos Short and Mildred Short; his mother-in-law Virginia Coleman; and his siblings-in-law, Roger Belcher and Linda Coleman.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Joe Short and Rebecca Drinnon (Randy); his grandsons, Chase Drinnon (Ryle) and Chandler Drinnon (Haley); his brother Ricky Short (Drucilla); and his siblings-in-law, Lesa Coleman, Sharon Belcher, Jerry Coleman and Jackie Parsons. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Speedwell Baptist Church Cemetery (121 S Main St, Bulls Gap, TN 37711).
