We announce the death of William Franklin Waits of Burlison, Tennessee, who passed away on September 4, 2026, at the age of 92. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. William will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew William will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. William’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Waits and Lora Lee Waits (Leo); and his brother Welton Waits. He is survived by: his children, Greg Waits (Melony) of Sugar Tree, Tami Grimes (Kevin) of Somerville, Cary Waits of Covington and Candy Bogardy of Bartlett; and his siblings, Laverne Smith of Covington and Hugh Lee Waits (Brenda) of Burlison. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Indian Creek Cemetery (2481 Indian Creek Rd, Brighton, TN 38011).
