He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ann Koger; his grandchildren, Billie and Hall; his children, Paul Nathan Akin Jr., Martin Gaines Akin and Ashley Akin Brantley; his children-in-law, Molly Akin, Sarah Akin and Barrett Brantley; his granddaughters, Ruthie and Charlotte; and his siblings, Nubby, Stewart Akin, Patsy Akin Smith and Brenda Akin Glenn.
