He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mattie Lucy King Smith and Patsy Lee King Link; his son Robert Quinton "Nugie" King; and his brothers-in-law, John Roy Carter and Eli Jordan Smith Sr..

He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Eric King of Nashville and Barry King of Antioch; his grandchildren, Korrey King (Dani) of Japan, Alisha Weitzel of Burbank, Kimberlea Bush Strong (David) of Baxter, Kaleb Bush (Lauren Crockett Bush) and Jasmine King of Antioch; his sister Janie King Carter of Watertown; and his siblings-in-law, Ben Malone of Antioch, Dorthy J. Corley of Gallatin and Caroline Sales (John) of Nashville. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
