He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ray Broyles and Mattie Lula Bradley Broyles; his sister Roberta Broyles; his former wife Patricia Ann Broyles (Patsy); and his siblings-in-law, Charles Bruce Vaughn and Martha Sue Bell Broyles.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Evans (Betsy); his children, Janet Fay Broyles Trainham (James Edward Trainham II) and Thomas Patrick Broyles (Amy Fowler Broyles); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Eatherly Trainham Little (Parrish) of Carthage, James Edward Trainham III (Emma) of Carthage, Lena Kay Broyles Franey (Tucker) of Carthage, William Thomas Broyles (Kristen) of Carthage and John Bowman Broyles of Carthage; his great grandchild Henry James Little; and his siblings, Martha Broyles Vaughn, Kenneth Ray Broyles of Sparta and Leon Broyles (Martha Jane) of Sparta.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (409 Main St N, Carthage, TN 37030).
