He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Thomas "Monk" Lackey and Emma Lou Shelton Lackey; his uncle Charlie; his aunt Fannie Lackey; his close friend Patsy Christian Lackey; and his siblings, Vivian Lackey, James Red Lackey, William Earl Lackey and Allen Dinky Lackey.

He is survived by: his children, Angela Nejo, Rodney Rogers, Mindy Enos and Robert Lee Lackey; his stepchildren, Jacob Wright (Laura) and Rachel Wright (Roger Carpenter); and his sister Betsy Davis. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
