Dorothy Jones Obituary

We are sad to announce that on December 2, 2025, at the age of 98, Dorothy Jones in Cedar Hill, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Dorothy departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Dorothy may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Dorothy leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Newton E. Allen and Inez Gertrude Blocker Allen; and her husband Miles Robert Jones Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Thomas Allen Jones (Cheryl Nina) and Kathryn Jones Dupree (David); her grandsons, Robert Galen Dupree (April) and Jonathan Randall Dupree (Rachel); and her stepgrandson Woodrow W. Singletary.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Dorchester Memory Gardens (11000 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485).

Talented in quilting and sewing, she spent the last decade of her life creating charity quilts for communities in Haiti and among American Indian groups.
