He was predeceased by: his parents, Hub Strong and Maxie Strong (Denton). He is survived by: his wife Gail Cherry Strong of Celina; his children, Melissa Strong Smith (Ronnie), Melanie Davenport of Auburntown and Phillip Strong; his grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Hannah Smith Wix, Hayley Smith, Cody Strong and Destinee Charles; his siblings, Barbara Hix (Bennie) of Hilham, Wanda Hubertz of Ohio, Wayne Strong of Gainesboro and Jack Strong of Gainesboro; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Rich (Steve), Doug Cherry (Rita) of Soddy Daisy and Tim Cherry. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Ursday Anderson & Son Funeral Home - Red Boiling (544 Lafayette Rd, Red Boiling Springs, TN 37150).
