He is survived by: his wife Shirley Carter; his daughters, Susan Ezell and Julie Carter; his stepdaughters, Amanda Kelley and Laura Black; and his siblings, Timmy Carter, Gary Carter, Johnny Carter and Cynthia Carter. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
